Echoes of the Court comes to Theater De Liefde in Haarlem for a special Sunday afternoon concert, bringing together music, history and cultural exchange in an intimate theatrical setting. The HarmonEast Ensemble creates a vivid dialogue between Western classical music and Ottoman court music through the distinctive combination of ney, piano, percussion, viola and cello.
Featuring newly created arrangements, the program unfolds chronologically from the 17th to the 20th century, taking the audience on a 350-year journey through courtly musical traditions. Short historical reflections between the works reveal how artistic ideas crossed borders and how Eastern and Western courts influenced one another over time. Echoes of the Court invites the audience to experience music as a living bridge between cultures, connecting history with the present.
