Echoes of the Court comes to Theater aan de Schie in Schiedam for a special lunch concert, bringing together music, history and cultural exchange. The HarmonEast Ensemble creates a vivid dialogue between Western and Ottoman court music through the distinctive combination of ney, piano, percussion, viola and cello.
Featuring newly created arrangements, the program unfolds chronologically from the 17th to the 20th century, taking the audience on a 350-year journey through courtly musical traditions. Along the way, the music reveals how artistic ideas crossed borders and how Eastern and Western courts influenced one another. Historical reflections woven into the performance provide context and enrich the listening experience. Echoes of the Court offers an inspiring musical interlude in the middle of the day, connecting cultures, history, and the present.
